Analyzing Health Data Breaches: A Visual Analytics Approach

This research studies the occurrence of data breaches in healthcare provider settings regarding patient data. Using visual analytics and visualization tools, we study distribution by state. We review main causes types breaches, as well their impact on both providers patients. The shows a range breach victims. Network servers are most popular location for common such hacking information technology (IT) incidents, unauthorized access, theft, loss, improper disposal. offer proactive recommendations to prepare breach. These include, but not limited to, regulatory compliance, implementing policies procedures, monitoring network servers. Unfortunately, results indicate that probability will continue rise.
